If your goal is to open a full-time studio at some point in the future, you need to have a solid foundation of students to maintain the expenses of a full-time operation. You have many options at your disposal to initiate a part-time program (refer to the START program manual for additional information). Recreation centers, schools, churches all offer good facilities to support classes while you build your headcount. When you reach a headcount of 50 you’re in a solid position to begin looking at facilities and location for a full-time studio. You should then take a detailed look into location options as described later in this manual.
